Harrison Hoodie

In 2016 we pulled Harrison from the shelter where he was set to be euthanized. We knew at that point he was a very “aggressive” dog, but we didn’t know how bad it was until he was in our care.

Harrison was the most dangerous dog we’d ever been in contact with. After landing myself in the hospital more times than I care to admit, multiple failed board and trains, and having 16 professionals tell me “not all dogs can be saved, Koco, you need to euthanize him yesterday!” - it became very clear that no one was coming to save Harrison or me.

If we were going make it work, it would be up to us. So we got to work. I made an out-loud commitment to Harrison in January of 2017. I sat by his crate and said, “This might take me 5 months, or it might take me 5 years, but I’ll never quit on you, I’ll find a way to get through.”

Harrison went on to become the greatest dog I’ve ever known. He became well socialized, both with dogs and humans. He has a young puppy's energy and zest for life. He is especially lovely with our little senior dog, Mary Katherine. Everyone who meets him loves him.

We’ve been going strong for 9 years together. Harrison is a legend in our rescue, and is the reminder that all miracles reveal themselves when you “finish what you start.”
